Conflict Of Self is an abstract acrylic painting.
The main approach for this painting was to communicate feelings of hurt, deep melancholy and sadness. The deep rich colours represent depth of raw human emotion and how they’re mostly untamed and wavering to give this feeling of chaos and perhaps even anger.
The of the deep colours over the white canvas create that negative space and allow the painting to breathe, but only slightly. The centre of the painting looks similarly to that of a person and literally speaking this is to represent self.
The chaos that surrounds the person is to make the viewer feel a little suffocated and claustrophobic as this is a similar feeling to how anxiety and depression can affect us in our day to day lives.
